Textstudioasevia is an experimental laboratory that combines different practices and studies their relations and dynamics: handmade-digital, bodily-sensory, feminine (domestic)-city (political), conscious-unconscious, garment-space. I always think of these connections and coexistences in the way we open a closet and see dissimilar objects coexisting, neatly arranged, yet still retaining spiderweb-like connections to each other. Within the autonomous universe of the closet, the disparate are connected. These ‘unexpected surprises’, these commonalities, emerge when different research and design techniques are involved. When, for example, a book is designed like an architectural plan, a literary text or a musical score; a sleeve is sewn, like a surgeon sutures the wound at the end of the operation, and so on. These “strange” correlations of material and immaterial things are at the structural core of studioasevia, reconstituting the boundaries of the imaginary and the real.
Among them are: Drawings, collages, wearable sculptures, clothing-objects, photographic performances, embroideries, handmade editions, visual identity, logos, posters, printed publications, art catalogues, artbooks, and other objects of visual or spatial narrative.
